70km Melksham to Dyrham Park via Lacock cycle route

We use a Garmin Edge Touring bike GPS, and the GPX files here will work on it nicely! Full review see HERE.

This is a tough route, a fair few tough hills and a reasonable distance.  This goes from Melksham to Dyrham Park via Lacock and lots of villages along the way.  A really very pretty and quiet road route.  At Dyrham park (national trust) this route takes you of an external loop which is a bridleway, so at least a hybrid bike needed.  Apart from this, a road bike will be sufficient, though there is another farm track so its not all smooth tarmac.

  • Distance:  70km
  • Type of route: Quiet road, and some bridleway.  Full road bikes probably not suitable, hybrid OK
  • Difficulty (excluding distance):  Difficult
