Bristol Museum vs. Banksy Exhibition

We're not art lovers. But we went to see the Banksy Exhibition at the Bristol Museum. We had to queue over an hour to get in, and another 45 mins to get into his exhibition room. But what was there was superb and worth the queue.

In addition to his fantastic art in his one room, he "vandalised" the rest of the museum which meant you just had to walk around the entire place and see what other art/changes he made. Excellent idea - meant a probably quiet museum was heaving, and it was so funny everyone was buzzing. How rare is that?

Absolutely 10/10!

Zorbing at Zorb South

Thanks to my parents for our zorbing trip as one of our Christmas presents of Zorbing.

We went down to Zorb South in Dorset for a wet ride. It was actually really good fun - Mel screamed with laughter all the way down.

Only downside is the price - no idea what the parents paid but believe it was discounted, but the entire "event" is around 36 seconds. So the list price of £50 for 2 people per ride is an absolute rip off.

So great fun - but 5x over priced....

Killer Marathon

For our sins, on 31 May 2009 we went up to Edinburgh for a long weekend and ran the Edinburgh marathon.  Our first.  Unfortunately, the weather was superb and probably the hottest weekend in Edinburgh for years – so not ideal for running.

Of 13,000 full marathon runners, only 8,200 finished which is a huge drop out.

We both had personal targets, and unfortunately we both missed them.  It may have been the heat; the amount we sweated; not enough training; or any other multitude of excuses – regardless we’re both a bit gutted.     Ryan was in a bit of pain from 16m, bit more from 20, but still on target (of sub 3:30) till 24 miles when his legs just stopped working making the last 2 miles a very painful (and slow) almost crying on every step!  Lol!  Mel was on target for just over 4:00 but had pain from 10m which is bizarre as she didn’t have any pains on training runs.

Our final results
