Oops. Yes, we’ve been emailed and asked if we’re still going as not updated this site in a couple of years and its now 2025! Sorry! But the core reason is when we started this site back in 2008 when the internet was still black & white not many people were publishing blogs on travels and it was all new to our friends and family.
Now, every man and his dog does travel blogs and many are “content creators” and do a far better job than I ever could be bothered to do – and, well, we’re not really done anything that interesting that anyone would give two hoots about.
Also some personal/medial challenges have fkd up best laid plans so hence a few delays and cancellations of backpacking plans
But worry not – since the last post in early 2023….
- 2023: 6 weeks in the van to SW France playing in the mountains https://photos.app.goo.gl/YGCJ6E7idQ6nbPqq7
- 2023: 2 weeks on motorbike camping/touring the Pyrenees
- 2023/2024: House and garden maintenance; chimney work and new shed/garden room (design & build)
- 2024: 2x 2 weeks on motorbike camping/touring the Alps/Med https://photos.app.goo.gl/oYennwAk5PFLFLMT9
- 2024: 6 weeks campervan trip to Spain/Portugal https://photos.app.goo.gl/rPXfGTrbMB8nVQ7w5
So quite a lot been going on, albeit not the ideal plans
Motorbike doing well, 6 weeks of camping trips so far, but wish the weather was better! We’ve not been overly lucky and had to use some hotels. Some future trips planned.
The Black Sheep van is holding together well, 267 nights away in it so far, plans for an epic trip in 2025.
A few backpacking trips/adventures in the pipeline – more planning needed – watch this space!
And more work on the house…..
So yep normal service here….
Hey Ryan and Mel, I hope both of you are well. My name is Gary and my wife and I have recently purchased your first van βnv200β. I am wondering if you still had more details about the wiring of lights and usb sockets, as I am going through the process of having a poptop installed shortly and donβt really want to lose any of the features you installed. Also we too both love the blue light in ceiling. Thanks Gary
I will email you

I am very happy to read through your blogs and to see you are still roaming the earth π Big love. Chrys (ex 1E)
