We’re also making our way through Germany (close to the Austrian border ATM). How do you find launderettes in Germany? We’ve only seen a couple of places that do the laundry for you, but no self-service options. Our washing piles up until we visit the occasional campsite!

Hope you had a good birthday Mel πŸ™‚

Three weeks to go before i finish work. cant wait to go.
However one small problem, my insurers have now decided three weeks before i go they will not cover me for the trip !! Who are you insured with ? Insurance companys seem to make the rules up as they go along. After they have taken your money !!

Thanks for your kind comments about our site – much appreciated! It will be populated with many more trips over the coming months – currently in Holland heading towards Denmark – so watch this space for regular updates.
I have also heard comments about the Milton type solution for tank cleaning, though I have also read the Milton solutions can attack stainless steel which could possibly affect plumbing and boiler components. I’ve nothing to back this up other than reading it on the internet but it is something you may want to consider.
Hope you have some good travels in the near future!

  • From Robin on Cleaning motorhome fresh water tank

I use Milton (or Tesco own brand equivalent) baby bottle cleanser. This is dilute sodium hypochlorite. I use about half a cup in the 90 litre tank, top up with water, leave for at least 12 hours, then empty and flush before filling up. If its safe enough for a baby its safe enough for me!

    • From Ryan and Mel on Long range Wi-Fi Access πŸ™‚

Thanks for letting me know – I will update it.
We use the “rocket” which is the cheapest one, and this is fine especially in built up areas. I’ve not tested the longer range ones and, to be fair, I’ll see how we get on with the small one on our next trip before I decide to expand it or not.
Take a look at http://www.faculty-x.net/ as they have a good range (also the supplier I used)
They have a Β£20, Β£40 and Β£100 adapter. I know the Β£20 one works well, my research on the Β£100 suggest it had issues with Vista? But that was a while ago.
      So suggest the Β£20 one.
      Good luck!

  • From Lesley & Rob on WooHoo! Next massive trips starting end July!!

Another trip. What fun! We’re in Norway now & it’s peeing down heavily today, but that doesn’t dim the beauty of the place. We were seriously impressed with Denmark and Sweden, but Norway does it all so much bigger!

After two month’s we are still loving being in the van. The only thing I miss is easy internet and radio 4. However, when I do have internet I play too much and don’t get round to other things.

We will be in Poland by September, so if you do end up that way look out for a silver Renault Master with “Devon” plastered on the front.

  • From maggie bevis on Year 1 Review

I’ve enjoyed reading this- especially the not killing each other bit! We’ve been to Greece for the summer for the last four years and I must admit , it was a worry that being together all the time might be difficult but the absolute opposite was true…….we’ve talked about so many things…even thinking up daft questions to ask each other like’ if you hadn’t done what you’ve done, what would you have liked to do?’ and neither of us got the expected answer!
Your site is really interesting ( especially as we have the same camera and same creative Zen MP3 player) I always like looking at other people’s hints and tips as we can all learn from other’s experience- so if you ever decide to go to Greece- I’m available for hints and tips ( as are margaret and barry williamson www.magbaztravels.com an amazing source of information)
